It Doesn't Get Better than Emerson ~ Qotes to Inspire ~ A Flying Sisters Blog Hop

I am so happy that I get to take part in the Flying Sisters Blog Hop on the third Thursday of every month!  At the end of this post you will be given the link to another wonderful blog post by another creative friend of mine, then at the end of hers will be another link, then at the end of hers.... and so on... until you get all the way back to my blog!  We all blog on the same topic...  It is a Blog Circle.

This months topic is: "My Favorite Quote"

As I move through my days I often find myself longing for the sound of language from the past... a bit archaic sounding, romantic, wordy and wise.

My favorite place to turn for some good wisdom is to....

Ralph Waldo Emerson
(Clicky Link ~ Click his name and it brings you to site about Ralph!!)

Who has given me my faves:

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in, forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day, you shall begin it well and serenely...”

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.

There are so many more... search for
Emerson and find your own favorites!

Please move through the AWESOME flying sisters BLOG HOP and go next to visit my friend the wonderful artist Kristen Conley
at www.whimsyinspired.com ~
Her writing and shared quote on
this blog hop has already inspired my day!

p.s. Flying Sisters are a group of amazing women that I was in a class (by artist Kelly Rae Roberts) with last summer.  They have become such an important part of my life!

  1. I really like this one “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” Must try to stop "fitting in" to something I am not! Now off to the next fabulous blog... Oh wait, that's me :)

  2. I love Ralph and your first quote was one I almost used for my post. His quote seem to be filled with genuine old fashion wisdom that so much of us need reminding every now and then.
